Amelia Phythian is a painter. She is terrible at yoga, but loves nothing more than scouring thrift stores for other people's unwanted holiday souvenirs. Amelia once received a Valentine's day card from Ringo Starr.

Her works play on the clichés of womanhood, focusing heavily on collections of objects, interiors and the personality within a domestic space. With a sense of humour and playfulness Amelia creates a "woman's space" using portraiture and still life as her imagery. Amelia works in a multitude of medias including pencil crayon, water colour and acrylic and in December 2018 was chosen to represent Salford, her hometown in an artist residency exchange with Caustic Coastal and Artistes en Residence, Clermont - Ferrand.
